PHS Appoints Long Time Pharmaceutical Professional To Lead Operations and Development

Memphis, TN, December 23, 2010 - PHS, Provider Health Services, a leading healthcare service organization focused on delivering high-quality, cost effective care to patients in long-term care settings throughout the United States, recently appointed Mark Smith as Chief Operating Officer to lead the company's operations and aggressive business development efforts. In his new position at PHS, Smith will be responsible for all areas of operations including the Central Billing Office, physician and nurse practitioner recruitment and direct the company's strategy around growth and business development.
Smith, a 27-year veteran in the Pharmaceutical sales industry, was previously with Glaxo SmithKline before being tapped by PHS. At Glaxo, Smith was a Regional Vice President responsible for all vaccine products for specialty, state governments, corporate customers, managed care, hospitals and military accounts.

Smith received his BS in Marketing from Florida State University. He currently resides in Cordova, TN and is active in numerous community activities including coaching youth baseball and basketball , working with college student ministries, and involved with University of Memphis Leadership Institute.
